The heart of the world’s southern oceans, Australia and New Zealand are two fantastic islands with magnificent oceans surrounding their coastlines. If you’ve always dreamed of seeing these incredible countries, what better way to do so than on a cruise!

The Best Cruise Holidays in Australia

Cruising holidays in Australia can take you anywhere from the majestic waters along the top end of the Northern Territory, along the glorious Sunshine Coast and down towards the unique coastline of the Great Australia Bight.

A cruise holiday along Australia’s Sunshine Coast will take you to magnificent seaside towns such as Mooloolaba, Noosa and Marychooydore. Here, you can enjoy whale watching from late June to early November, snorkel alongside the array of coloured fish and sea creatures, or simply take an evening stroll along the pristine beaches and watch the sun set over the sparkling ocean.

The northern coast is a place like no other and a cruise holiday in Australia will indeed bring you a rare glimpse of this wonderful coastline where oceans, desert and rainforest combine magnificently. Sailing past destinations like Horn Island in Queensland, Darwin in the Northern Territory and Broome in Western Australia, you’ll get to see towering rock ridges, silent secluded gorges and wide savannah plains.

A cruise along the Great Australian Bight will take you through the southern oceans, where you’ll get to explore destinations like Adelaide and Kangaroo Island. These waters are home to a multitude of creatures which you will likely glimpse from your cruise ship, so keep an eye out for sea lions and penguins frolicking in the sea.

The Best New Zealand Cruise Destinations

Fancy NZ? New Zealand cruises offer unique experiences and a chance to see some of the Long White Cloud’s best destinations, including the Bay of Islands, the Fjordland National Park and Christchurch.

The north of New Zealand is home to the Bay of Islands, where stunning blue oceans are flanked by around 150 smaller islands. Opportunities to swim with wild dolphins or kayak around the islands are popular here. If you prefer to admire the ocean from land, the townships of Paihia and Russell are excellent tourist destinations where you can head out on a dolphin cruise or indulge in some fine food and wine.

The stunning waters of the Fjordland National Park will leave you breathless as your cruise ship passes by vistas that rise steeply from the depths of the fjords to the summits high above. While on board, keep an eye out for crested penguins, fur seals and bottlenose dolphins swimming through the waters.

Many New Zealand cruises are also likely to take you to the beautiful, historic town of Christchurch, New Zealand’s Garden City. Situated on the south island, Christchurch boasts a diverse range of attractions and activities, from whale watching and dolphin spotting tours to skiing adventures, hiking trails or just some good old dining and shopping. If you’re keen to explore the waters, though, seek out a New Zealand cruise or tour that will take you out to nearby islands like Ripapa and Quail.
